Famous Photographers
You will research, produce, and present a Google Slide Show about a professional and influential photographer of your choice. The project is to have 15-20 slides and include specific biographical and technical information, and at least 10 photographs. You can choose from the list linked below or pick a significant photographer of your choice.

THE FIRST STEP is to choose your photographer. Google the names of photographers from the list that seem interesting and look at their work. Once your find a photographer that you find interesting and whose work you find engaging, claim that photographer!
THE SECOND STEP is to create a new Google Slide presentation and save it to a new folder in your Google Drive titled "Famous Photographer Research Project". Give the Google Slide the same title. Add the name of your photographer to the first slide. Immediately share with me - [email protected]
THE THIRD STEP is to research your chosen photographer. By delving into the life and works of one of these masters of the craft, you will gain a better understanding and appreciation of the art of photography. In order to provide a well-rounded picture of your photographer, you must answer the following questions:
You will need to pull this information from at least 3 reliable sources. NOTE: Wikipedia IS NOT a reliable source because it can be edited by anybody! Wikipedia can be a great starting place because it usually includes reliable sources located in the footnotes of each page. Follow those links, review those sources, and find your information there. Google is also a great place to search for sources, but you have to know how to effectively search. Here's a quick Lifehacker article that explains how to find the information you're looking for:
Keep track of where you're getting your information from! You are required have a works cited page at the end of your Google Slides presentation in MLA format, so capture that information as you are doing your research.

- How influenced-by others in field of photography
- How influenced-by circumstances in life
- Most important (or most famous) work
- Significant contribution(s) to photography (or the art world); include any techniques they may have invented and how they became “master photographer”
- Special techniques used (like lighting, color, black and white, etc.)
- What they themselves said/say about their work (quotes OK)
- Your opinion of the work and anything else you find important
- The last 4-5 slides with the photographer's images - 2-4 images on each slide
- Begin researching, reading, and selecting visuals being sure you fully understand EVERYTHING you include.
- Use the rubric below as your guide
- Add essential info to your Slides
- Add a title and theme that is appropriate
- Add a sources slide and shrink the font of URLs until they fit nicely
